<h3>Kitesurfing wind conditions in Sawadi Beach</h3><p>The predominant winds from the Indian Ocean blow up the Arabian Coast and hit the northern section of Oman from June to September. Despite the short season, you can count on pretty consistent kitesurf friendly winds during those 3–4 months. With average winds between 20 and 30 knots, you will be cruising across the Gulf of Oman on your kiteboard, with the sun on your face and salt in your hair.</p><p>In the winter the mean temperature in the area is around 25° C, but in summer the temperatures are likely to reach 40° C so definitely pack your sun cream and stay hydrated while kitesurfing! Even in the winter, the water temperature is usually above 24° C. This particular spot is ideally suited for kiteboarding beginners because of the shallow flat water, and the wind is usually not too strong compared to some other spots in Oman.</p><p>Look for surfers, divers, and swimmers at this location because it is a popular destination for various watersports, including the aforementioned diving at the adjacent Damanyat Islands. However, the beach spreads for kilometers in both directions, so there is still plenty of room to launch and find your personal kite spot.</p><h3>Around the kite spot: Sawadi Beach</h3><p>Cruising along the Arabian coastline has a few benefits, such as crystal blue waters, abundant marine life, and miles and miles of empty beaches. This area is known as the Batina Area, and it is a popular tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors. Hotel resorts in the area are luxuriously designed and have their own kitesurfing schools for people who want to start their journey into kiteboarding. With a vast open ocean to surf on, Sawadi Beach is ideal for beginners.&nbsp;</p><p>There are nine low, rocky islets here, stretching out in a line from east to west and organized into three distinct groups, all surrounded by coral reefs. The islands have been designated as natural reserves and they are an essential nesting location for hawksbill and green turtles, as well as a variety of migratory species, including the highly endangered sooty falcon, which is also found in the Sawadi Islands, so nature watching trips are a great way to spend some time.</p><p>What you won’t find much of here is a party scene. Oman is a dry country both physically and in terms of alcohol, so bars are limited to hotels and your best option is to just enjoy the brutal natural beauty around you!</p><h3>The best way to get there</h3><p>Musannah is a fantastic place to visit if you want to relax in the luxury of a beachfront resort while also engaging in several sports and activities. It is located 75 kilometers north of Muscat International Airport, and takes 45-60 minutes to get to the spot from the airport. Your best bet is to rent a car or a 4x4 on arrival as transport infrastructure in Oman leaves a bit to be desired!</p>

<p>Sawadi Beach, near Barka, is a well-known holiday destination in Oman for locals and foreigners alike. Many travelers head north of Muscat because of the wide range of water sport activities nearby this excellent kite spot, so on top of some great kiteboarding you can also do diving cruises to the nearby Damanyat Islands.</p><p>The open and vast beach stretches several kilometres in both directions, allowing you to take long sunset walks. The area is dotted with high end hotels so it’s definitely more suited to a resort style kite trip, where you enjoy the luxury of your accommodation on the beach and kitesurf out in front of the hotel.</p>

<p>Sur Masirah is one prominent kite spot on the island,
with a huge kite launching area. The massive flat lagoons on the west coast and
the waves of the Indian Ocean on the east coast make this island kitesurfers’
heaven. The season kicks off in June and lasts till September. Kiteboarders
pack their gear to travel to this off-beat kitesurfing playground. Although the
water is clear, there are some rocks offshore. So be vigilant while surfing and
steer clear of the rocks. In some parts of the mainland of Oman, the
temperature rises to 55 degrees. Surprisingly, the temperatures are as low as
24-38 on the island because of the monsoon.</p><h3>Kitesurfing wind conditions in Sur Masirah</h3><p></p><p>Masira Island gets 20 to 45 knots of wind, usually from
the south, south to south-west and south-west all day long. The strong hot
winds call for somewhat experienced kiteboarders. Sur Masirah is a kite spot, where also  thermal wind systems are pushing in. They are very unpredictable. So, we’d suggest not
rely totally on wind statistics and forecasts. For your safety, contact the
local kite schools and check their homepages. </p><h3>Around the kite spot Sur Masirah</h3><p></p><p>The place offers accommodations for every budget, from
around 22 OMR per night up to the 50-80 OMR 4-star hotels. You can also stay in
traditional Bedouin-style huts and wake up by the sunrise. Otherwise, if you
want to camp, there are some spots accessible within a 20mins drive from Sur
Masirah. Nights can get chilly, so bringing a hoodie is the best option. <span>Most parts of the island are not that well developed. In
case of emergency, some hospitals are in the north of the island, i.e., in Ras Hilf.
Also, a kite repair center and a rescue service let you go for no-holds-barred
kitesurfing. Venture out to the east of the island to find a turtle breading
area. Watch the rare species of turtles compete for their way to the sea as

from Muscat International Airport. Pack up your snacks and get ready for a
4-hour long drive. To get to Sur Masirah, catch a ferry from Shana port. Your
travel efforts will not go in vain once you reach the destination. Masira
Island is safe, so the cheapest and flexible choice for traveling is a rental
car. This will allow you to explore the island at your ease.</p>

<p>Masirah Island is Oman‘s largest island, with 12,000
inhabitants. The island is mostly hilly, especially on its east side. The
beaches are flat and filled with white coral sand. You can catch sights of
camels walking around here and there on the beach. Among the desert area, you
can find patches of oases in the mountain valley, locally known as oases. The
sunrise will make the stunning lagoon shine in all kinds of colors. Most of the
establishments are concentrated in Ras Hilf, north of the island. The main
business of the island is fishing. You can vibe around and stroll through the
markets of Ras Hilf to haggle and buy freshly caught fish and experience the
traditions.</p>
