<h3>Kitesurfing wind conditions in Mer d'Emeraude</h3><p>Because the launching and riding conditions are a bit challenging, the Emerald Sea lagoon is better suited to riders with some experience, but there are schools here if you want to learn and a vast area to do so.&nbsp;</p><p>The wind in the main season ranges from 20 to 40 knots, so it can get strong here, maybe pack a small kite! The trade wind kicks through between April and November, but June-September generally offers the most consistent wind conditions. Depending on what you’re after you can ride waves or freestyle here, so it offers a nice mixture.</p><h3>Around the kite spot Mer d'Emeraude</h3><p>Madagascar is not a well developed kite hotspot, so don’t expect bars and nightlife here. Locally you can go snorkelling or fishing, maybe meet some lemurs and hang out with the locals for a bbq on the beach. It’s still very much a wild island with not a lot to do except enjoy the beauty and fierceness of nature, and travelling around is an adventure in and of itself. But it’s an island with a lot to offer if you are willing to put the effort in. There are multiple national parks to visit, the famous Baobab trees in the West of the island and an incredible variety of wildlife all over.&nbsp;</p><h3>How to get to Mer d'Emeraude and how to bring it about while you're there</h3><p>Public transport in Madagascar means 12+ hour minibus rides, and flying is expensive, so don’t expect an easy and cheap trip to get to the spot, it’s either easy and expensive, or long and cheap! You can fly to Arrachart airport (DIE) with a connection through Ivato international, or go local and catch the bus from there, it’ll be a crazy experience!</p>

The Emerald Sea, near Diego Suarez in the far north of the island, is a hidden kitesurf spot with tons of space, perfect flat water on the inside of the lagoon and waves on the outside.&nbsp;</p><p>The Emerald Sea lagoon, separated from Diego-Suarez Bay by the Babaomby Peninsula, is an incredible kiteboarding playground. With a length of 12 kilometers, it offers a vast kitesurfing area with different options for different riders. If you are at a good enough level it’s well worth organising a downwinder here to see the lagoon while passing through fishermen's villages and surfing some perfect waves on the reef.</p>

<p>Sakalava beach is a kite surfer's delight because of the ideal wind and water conditions. Also, there are two spots on this beach from where you can kitesurf. Both of these spots welcome all levels of kiteboarders from all around the world. If safety is bothering you, don't worry. Sakalava beach has medical and rescue services. With kitesurfing schools and repair centers, this beach has tons to offer. The only negative about this beach is its far away parking area.</p><h3>Kitesurfing wind conditions in Baie de Sakalava </h3><p>Baie de Sakalava's weather is perfect for kitesurfing. The gusty winds blowing all day long make it effortless to kiteboard. Here, the wind blows laterally, and its speed never drops below 15 knots throughout the year. But during the peak season, i.e., from early April right till October, the wind speed drastically rises and stays around 20 - 40 knots. The temperature revolves around 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. Most importantly, the water temperature stays about 27 degrees Celsius, which makes surfing enjoyable. However, November is your end of the peak season. Around this time, the wind speed would drop to 15 - 20 knots.</p><h3>Around the kite spot Baie de Sakalava </h3><p>First of all, the natural landscapes are enough to captivate any nature lover. The ornate horizons at golden dusk would make you feel like you're on cloud nine. Also, when the wind is upset, you can buckle up and do a bit of mountain hiking with your friends and family. ATV rides are also a great choice. Else, you can take a long leisurely walk to Ramena village. Enjoythe view of the quiet and beautiful village life to soak in their culture and practices. You can also sit back and watch whales for hours on the sunny and breezy coasts. Play a bit of beach volleyball with your mates. Besides, there are plenty of restaurants and eateries nearby to explore with your people. So, get yourself some delightful seafood and drinks. </p><h3>How to reach Baie de Sakalava and how to move there?</h3><p>If you’re traveling from other countries, you’ll have to take a flight to Antananarivo International Airport. Then, you can take a short domestic flight en route to Diego Suarez. You can easily opt for any public transportation from the domestic airport. A very short ride would take you to Sakalava beach. Another way is through near Ramena Village since the journey is even shorter from here.</p>
